What Beginners Get Inside

Grant Writing Made Easier

By the end of your first 30–60 days, you’ll have:

  • A complete standard grant narrative
  • A list of aligned funders
  • Your first real application submitted
  • AI tools that make everything faster
  • A clear system for writing and managing grants
  • A massive reduction in overwhelm
  • The confidence to write grants on your own
Write Your Standard Grant Narrative (Your Step-by-Step Foundation)

This is the core training that teaches you how to write a complete grant proposal--even if you've never written one before.

You'll learn how to create a full, reusable narrative that includes:

  • Organizational Information (History & Mission)
  • Statement of Need
  • Program Design & Logic Model
  • Goals, Objectives, & Evaluation
  • Budget & Budget Narrative
  • All the extra pieces funders ask for (LOIs, abstracts, timelines, thank-you letters, appendices, reports)

You get:

  • A done-for-you Standard Narrative Template
  • Short, clear video lessons for every grant section (4.5 hours total)
  • 200+ pages of workbooks that show you what to say and how to say it
  • Templates for budgets, Gantt charts, logic models, LOIs, and more

Why this matters for beginners:

Most people struggle because they don't know what belongs in each part of a grant or how to organize it. This training removes the guesswork so you always know: what to write, where it goes, why it matters, and how funders evaluate it.

What You'll Learn in Each Section (Beginner-Friendly Breakdown)

Organizational Info, History & Mission

You'll learn how to:

  • Explain what your organization does in a simple, compelling way
  • Share your history without overwhelming the reader
  • Highlight what funders care about most
  • Strengthen your mission statement (even if you're unsure it's "right")
  • Talk about leadership, board structure, and credibility
  • Write this section for organizations or individuals (artists, researchers)

Beginner result: You'll finally have a clean, clear "About Us" section that works for every grant.

Statement of Need (Why Your Work Matters)

You'll learn how to:

  • Identify exactly who you serve
  • Explain the problem your community is facing
  • Do beginner-friendly research (local data, stories, evidence)
  • Choose the right data without drowning in statistics
  • Build a logical, funder-ready case for why your program is needed

Beginner result: You'll learn to tell a compelling story backed by evidence--without feeling like you're writing a term paper.

Program Design & Logic Model (Your Plan of Action)

You'll learn how to:

  • Set clear goals and measurable objectives
  • Explain your program step by step
  • Choose activities that match what funders want
  • Identify the resources you need
  • Create a memorable program name
  • Show how your program is different from others
  • Identify partners and collaborators
  • Plan for sustainability
  • Fill out a logic model with confidence (we demystify the whole thing)

Beginner result: You'll finally understand how to design a program funders will trust--and how to explain it clearly.

Budgets & Budget Narratives

You'll learn how to:

  • Understand common budget formats (without fear)
  • Estimate realistic program and organizational costs
  • Align your numbers with your narrative
  • Explain your budget in plain English
  • Avoid the mistakes that get grants rejected

Beginner result: You'll create a clean, funder-ready budget even if you're not a "numbers person."

All the Little Pieces That Confuse Beginners

You'll learn how to create:

  • Executive summaries
  • Timelines
  • LOIs
  • Appendices
  • Thank-you letters
  • Grantmaker site visit materials
  • Grant reports

Beginner result: You won't be surprised by "bonus" requirements ever again.

Why Beginners Still Need to Learn the Writing (Even with AI)

AI is powerful--but only if you know what a good grant should look like.

Inside this unit, you'll learn:

  • How to check AI's work
  • How to give AI better instructions
  • How to revise AI's drafts so your writing is original, ethical, and funder-ready
  • How to stand out from the thousands of generic AI-generated proposals

Beginner result: You'll use AI to make grant writing faster--not worse.

  • A list of 20--30 "perfect fit" grant opportunities
  • A 12-month grant strategy

What GWME Members Have to Say

"I highly recommend taking this class as it has the potential to change your life for the better.

The program provided me with insight into the best prompts to ask ChatGPT to generate more effective grant proposals. I found the entire program to be incredibly helpful and informative.

My experience has been great, and I am confident that anyone who wants to improve their grant writing skills will find this program to be highly valuable."

- Peggie Henderson

"I’m an intermediate grant writer. I’m an attorney and an accountant, and I learned SO MUCH! The course truly has something for everyone!

I was an AI skeptic before meeting Krista at the Instrumtl seminar. Now, I’m a believer and tell everyone to come and join! Krista, you are fabulous! I’m amazed at the care you take with each of us, your students, and the material.

I’ve improved in grant writing speed, program development, grant success… just in everything. Best money I’ve spent."

- Christina Colley

"This training was excellent and my favorite thing about it is Krista's teaching style: very thorough.

I would encourage anyone in need of basic information on what AI is and how to use it to create professional grants to take this training. The most important lesson I learned was the way prompts can assist in creating a more in-depth grant."

- Patricia Johnson

"Learning to use AI adds a professional grant writer to your business for free. If you want to have the basics of a winning proposal drafted and just need to fine-tune it to your specific needs, then this is something you should try, especially as a new or small nonprofit.

Thank you for doing this. It cleared some of the fear of trying something new and encouraged me to see how this could positively impact my non-profit's ability to get successful proposal drafts, evaluation plans created, and program roadmaps created fast."

Yes, You Can Use AI
to Help You Write Large Grants!

"I was just awarded a $1.25 million grant from the Lilly Foundation!

I received your email about attending a training to learn how to write a grant in 1 hour using AI. I went - was totally amazed.

Before noon that day, I had an 8-page draft of a potential grant.

Using AI, I was able to put together the structure and bones of a good proposal. By the end of my work (about 2 weeks), I had 20 pages of a proposal in a total 47-page grant.

I tell everyone that your training on how to use AI to write a grant is what launched me in the writing process.

SO - I just thought you would want to know that. I'm beyond excited. Thank you for what you do."

"This is revolutionary for a small nonprofit with limited resources.

I have submitted several successful grants to government entities, foundations, and individual donors. I joined to learn how to streamline and accelerate the process to achieve more detailed and impactful proposals. In the training, I have learned the iterative effectiveness of prompting and my favorite thing about the training has been having my mind blown!

I would absolutely recommend this training to anyone who wants to learn to write grants with AI. Thank you for taking the time to develop this course and share it. What a time-saver."

-Scott C.

"I highly recommend this training and education to anyone who wants to boost their productivity.

As someone who has written grants for non-profits and private sector companies, as well as local, state, and federal entities, I can say that while I have had some success, I recognized that there is always room for improvement. That's why I decided to sign up for the AI grant writing training program.

Thanks to the program, I learned how to write prompts that generate the information I need, as well as different types of prompts that help me write various sections of the application. Once I understood how to use the tool, I was amazed at how quickly I could complete tasks."

-Khaim Morton

"Thanks to the training, I now know how to apply for more grants than I ever thought possible as a regular person.

Despite putting in several grant applications, I had yet to win any. That's when I decided to enroll in the AI grant writing program with the goal of learning how to complete grant applications quickly so I could apply for more.

One of the key takeaways from the program was how to make a conversation with the AI to get a more customized grant proposal. This was incredibly helpful in showing me how to tailor my proposals to the specific requirements of each grant. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to improve their grant writing skills."
